Lucky Live Catch

Hello, don't be afraid of this cold blooded reptile. Take a good look, this is a two tails lizard. In the past, I've have seen home gecko with full grown of two tail attached but I wasn't sure what was it supposed to mean. Until I met a guy who advise me that good fortune opportunity is knocking on the door.

This time round this naughty reptile just visit me and lucky me to caught it alive. I would asked its luck for this Friday TOTO draw. There is a saying, by doing the correct method of keeping the two tails lizard by your side. You wish for good fortune and luck will be granted.

In future if I would come across a fully grown nice set of two tail gecko. I'll post it onto my blog again. Cheers!

Morning walk with Jaslyn.

Can you spot the Shuttle Hoppfish also known as mudskipper (Periophthalmus gracilis) here? How about a turtle too?

Another morning walk which would let you see different kind of living things in Singapore each time. As soon as you walk into the Berlayer Creek, you would walk along the Berlayer Canal.

After going through the natural canal walk, we pass by the modern living, "The Reflections". Mansionette selling at SGD20,000,000.00++ excluding other hidden charges. The place quote at ridicule price if you ask me.

Nice view at the Keppel Marina. With the eyes closed wishing for something. Should have stand up straight.

This picture on the left, we have reached the end of Henderson Waves bridge at the point of 6.5km.

Just before the Alkaff Mansion at Telok Blangah Green, you would find several exercise equipment at the park. Everything is fixed and non adjustable and it may not be suitable for everyone.

Verterbrae related pain - Neck, Spine, Upper Back Pain, Lower back pain and hip pain.

Wrist pain & arm pain.

By the way you supposed to exercise mobility of your knee not your arm or your back for this machine here. Look at Jaslyn, she can't even do it for five minutes duration. Because the equipment is not suitable for her as from the way I see it. You need to be at least 1.65metre tall to fit the equipment design.

This is one my favorite place and it is called Green Terrace. If you have a wide angle lens camera, it would make a good and beautiful shot. I started to feel like taking a nap here.

Snake Nearby MRT Train Station Elevator - This is not a movie

Singapore is a country fills with lot of kind of snakes. For some reason certain common reptiles usually shows up at the place where they are not supposed to be as their habitat home has been disrupted by humans. And the thing is snakes usually survive under all these condition.

As I am going to take the elevator at the first floor common corridor down to the basement (don't ask me why?). I encounter a baby snake, I love snakes but then again get a little uncomfortable with them because they always like to come close to me (don't ask me why?). And this brownish little baby snake with white strip across its head is crawling slowly to seek for food. I recorded down the video and soon after that I went to inform the control center of the train customer service.

As soon as I entered the barrier and got down by the escalator. I saw a Caucasian family with baby stroller and a young cute baby girl using internal elevator. As she was walking independently five metres away from the exit barrier with her dad. Suddenly, she fell and cried for a while. So, I took this opportunity to go up there and approach her dad to explain to him not to take the elevator which will reach the first floor common corridor. And after that, I get back down to train waiting area to catch the train. That was the time, the customer service officer were arranging some broom stick to deal with the snake. I didn't know what happen afterwards. Probably, pest control will be in place to spread some sulfur around.

If you gift me something to appreciate - Be it real gold collection. I hate diamond. Diamond came from rock family and it's symbolize the heart of that person. I already have diamond partly in my heart so don't encourage it to grow some more. Give me a gold plated gift and it will make the world fill with rubbish be it in my apartment or into the garbage can. It doesn't help to safe the world to make a better place to live in.

Shopping Online Wisely

I was looking for my Phillip shaver jet cleaning solution for quite sometime now. To my surprise, not many electrical outlet carry this product. I've been here and there, with all those unnecessary transportation money that I've spend unintentionally. I would say it could have put for a better use. So, I decided to shop online for the item.

I check into my Amazon.com and found that the price is reasonable but the shipment is only for USA region. To my knowledge, the Singapore Post does have the service as middle party to assist purchases to be deliver back to home in Singapore. It's all by the Vpost service.

After taking the minimal calculated risk to have the item purchased online. Today, I finally manage to get on hold of my item. It took about 19 days of overall shipment and handling to my doorstep. I'm not in a hurry so I guess it's worth buying

FAILED - Sentosa 4DMagix

Yesterday I went to Sentosa with Jaslyn. She bought a discounted package to enjoy the Sentosa 4DMagix game from Groupon a few months back. We played the DESPERADO and EXTREME LOG RIDE.

Frankly speaking, I HATE the ride and the shooting game. Easily could score Top Ten on the billboard list. It should have rated as for 10 year old or below with Parental Guidance for safety purposes.

In your thirty's, you don't enjoy game that stationary simulated. Something that make you sit on the same spot and doing nothing but getting shake around like nobody business and get yourself dizzy for nothing. It's like seating on a PC and just move your fingers. It's very bad for your body health well being. I've visited hospitals before and most patients with backache, cervical problem which link pain from the neck to arms, neck to pelvic bone or neck to feet are the people enjoying this kind of lazy games or activity.

I would be glad if I have tried the iFLY. Definitely, will go for it one of the day. Just like the guy who enjoy it in the photo. I WANNA FLY like an airplane......

On the way back, I managed to take some photo shots the rain has stopped and it's getting dark. And I'm freaking hungry too, still need a lot of carb to curb my calories after the flu alike and marathon hangover.

Yesterday, I went to sign up new contract with Starhub Pte Ltd. It will be a 2 year contract and this will only end on 17th of December 2013. This time my new contract is using mobile plan of 3G SmartSurf 300 with the monthly payment of $58 per month. And this time round I'm using Samsung Galaxy S II.

StanChart Marathon 2011 - mission accomplished

This year determination of running a 42.195km marathon is sure something unforgettable. I have managed to finish the run on the first trial. I personally believed that I can do much better with sufficient time of proper training. A good pair of old shoe to run with. And without being feverish at the running season.

I wake up as early as 2am and reached Orchard by 4am. The subway is available till 5:30am specially for this occasion.

Nothing can compare when you're running outdoors. This morning, I ran from my house to Labrador Park and out of Labrador Park passing Telok Blangah Road to Harbour Front. Then, to Mount Faber passing Mount Faber Park crossing the Henderson Waves Bridge going through Telok Blangah Green and reaching Depot Road. Continue my journey to Hort Parks at Alexandra Road until I passes Kent Ridge Park. It's coming to noon time so I divert my way down to South Bouna Vista Road back to Pasir Panjang Food Center to grab some lunch take away. Before taking the subway going back to Labrador Road to reach home.

What did I see? :-

Three monkeys at Henderson interlink hill walkways. Passed through them, one were sitting along the walkway, one were crawling at the handrails and another one were sitting on the handrails. They were very clean and well behave. I jogged passed them again when the walkway were blocked by construction for walkway repair damage due to minor land slide.

A stuck-up rude Singaporean in his early 50's when I was asking a direction to the main road.

Me: Excuse me. Is there a way out from there, Sir?

Rude Person: You have no reason to be here. This is a restricted area. (That doesn't answer my question in the first place and a very defensive for no reason.)

Me: I'm supposed to pass the nearby path but it was blocked by the construction.

Rude Person: There is no way here. And that constructions has been there for months. (Speaking like everyone in Singapore knew about the construction. Probably he thought that I live there too.)

Me: Better find my own way out to South Bouna Vista Road. That man is not only hopeless but helpless as well.

What is nice? :-

There are hidden beautiful view in the morning when you at highest peak of those parks. Very good for photo taking.

The reason I getting feverish...partly is because

I seldom fall sick and getting a fever is just a beginning. I feel anyone would suffer the same damage if they fall into the same category as me. The reason I'm starting to get a feverish is due to lack of rest. Not that I don't wanna rest but most of the time. I had to do things on my own.

An example would be in such a case normally I encountered.

Monday morning awake as normal in the morning. Having normal meal and getting daily things done like housekeeping, washing laundry and some home work. And in the evening entering the company to work for night shift till Tuesday morning.

Tuesday morning arriving from work reaching home about ten o'clock. After having a good shower and taking brunch it would be reaching noon time already. Then, go to sleep and automatically will awake around two thirty to three o'clock. Then, get freshen up and check mails online or will certainly goes out to do some grocery shopping.

Around six to nine o'clock in the morning the feeling of tiredness will emerge again and eyelid will get puffy as well as the dark eye ring will appear worst. Once reaching home, I would need a good shower prior to get some rest. And this time, this rest should be a good and long one till Wednesday noon without disturbance.

Wednesday, if I had to awake early in the morning to attend my morning shift work or other appointment. Then, it would be good help if there is afternoon nap for several hours. If there aren't afternoon nap, then my body system will start to go hair wire. Concentration can be stressful and body temperature will start to rise. Perspiration becoming inconsistent no matter whether being indoor with air conditioning or being outdoor without it. Neck would felt sore and stiff occasionally.

Definitely, I'm will not be able to be myself in this situation for Wednesday and Thursday. If not fallen to sickness then by Friday it should feel better.

Today I run 15KM on Treadmill

I'm starting to get back the momentum of running after a week long busy with my solemnization arrangement. Today, after a struggling first 5KM run on the treadmill. I added up another 10KM making it total of 15KM.

1KM with 15 degree of incline + 5.0 speed = warm up the knee muscle
4KM with 2 degree of incline + 9.0 speed = running & struggling with muscle discomfort
5KM with 1 degree of incline + 8.0 speed = muscle ache is gone but shoulder frozen at times
4KM with 0 degree of incline + 7.0 speed = everything is working fine except feels like wanna go to toilet
0.5KM with 15 degree of incline + 5.0 speed = warm down knee muscle
0.5KM with 0 degree of incline + 5.0 speed = warm down breathing

We all come to a point in our lives when we have to move out of our nests and venture out on our own. Today, I'm spending my time with Jaslyn to go for the duck ride. As usual she's late and everyone is waiting for her. I took a cab to Suntec City and she took the subway. I reaches the place within 10 minutes and she reaches there about 45 minutes late. And soon enough our ride begin, quack! quack! quack! quack! quack! quack! quack! quack!

Yesterday, 15th Oct. 2011 - Jaslyn & I went to see whether she'll be able to buy her shoe for the bridal photo. And it turned out that the store is out of stock on her size at The Central shopping mall.

Then, we went to a candy store and she was looking for lolly pop to use for bridal photo props. It didn't turned out to be the choice as I don't see what's the point because in actual we don't fancy lolly pop. Minor disagreement occurs when I told her about it as time is passing very fast and I have whole list of schedule for the day too.

So, we went to Dhoby Ghaut for the BOWS wedding fair. When we stumbled on the same outlet Sinderella, I was greeted with surprise that the shop owner recognized us when they had a glimpse in the first place we visited just now at the Central Shopping Mall. From there Jaslyn is doing an order for her shoe. I've suggested to her in case she can't get the shoe on time she must be well prepared. It was like she's counting a lot on me to do the finding about what she wanted. Pretty confusing if you ask me but it's an experience that I'll never forget because I get to know her shoe size.

Then, we went for the balloons outlet. She like it, I find it just generous to get her some.

Then the surprises comes one after another, I felt that she could be easily distracted with the offer by the other outlet which provide other services like body scrub, facial and massage too when in actual her main goal is to buy her wedding shoe instead. And it may carried away when the sales representatives started to relate about their services from one to another.

For an instant, you subscribe an offer package body scrub with massage, then they would tell you that you really need a facial. Then, you tell them your bridal photo is about 7 days ahead and need to avoid facial scars effect. Insistingly they told you, it's ok because they'll do more lean work during the facial session to minimize the pinching scaring. I feel it's an advantage to them because they'll do lesser than normal. After that, they urged my dear to take up dark eye ring treatment. I know her dark eye ring is a natural thing in her lifestyle. Only better way is by surgical to remove away those under eyes broken blood vein capillary. But as the technique of approach sound very convincing. She became liking it and it's way over doing it. Ending up the sales representatives told her that she could have take another offer which are the ampules. I remembered that Jaslyn gave me two bottle of ampules last few days and she still got some of it. So, I strongly reminded her that she still have many left what's the hurry to buy. The funny thing is, everyone who sell ampules are pressing very hard that others may not selling high quality ampules as it should and their one is the BEST OF THE BEST. That's very unconvincing! I've seen this kind of remarks almost everywhere on the webpage, in the facial saloon, internet, wedding outlets and much more. So, which brand is the world No.1 or Top 5? Because women who are reaching above thirty's are less confidence about themselves, the sales representatives remarks are really a taboo to the client pocket.

Then, we rush to Bugis trying to find our way to Kandahar Street to place a booking for family dinner next month. As soom as we arrived, the place has not open yet so we seat in a restaurant called 'Dapur Jen's'. I ordered a seafood fried rice, a coffee, a plate of samosa, vegetable roll and a tea tarik for her. It was an pleasant meal and I did chat with the owner for a while. It's a new restaurant which just opened about 3 months.

Then, I called up the person who's going to lease out his car to me. We meet up about 6:30pm and it was a nice Daihatsu Copen. Well, we didn't pay anything yet so. We'll how it goes on the car rental. - edited at 1:30am on the 16th.

18 HOUR SLEEP MIRACLES

12th Feb. 2009, Thursday - Being age of over thirty does makes me feel more younger especially when I get enough rest. It has been sleep less for the past six year working in the field whch involved lot of overtime. Another one and half year spending time working in the control room and still going the same process.

Of course physical stress is more during working in the field which consume a lot of physical energy. While mental stress is more during working in the control room which consume the eyesight looking at the computer panel for about twelve hour a day ( excluding non-working time ) and problem solving on mathematical calculation on every operation. As well as customer service on the 24/7 phone line.

Beside swimming and jogging as hobby. I found that sleeping in a cool room for longer hours does help in reducing the fats and weight of the body. So, periodically I practise to get a good sleep over 15 hour when there's a chance. And I started consuming multi vitamins last year ( which I should have done during my teenage that time ).

Year 2008 Body's Weight/69kg : Fats/23% :Height/169cm : H2O/55.7% : Waist/31.5"

I can tell you, you should have try it. The expected outcome are listed below :-

I've looking for this DRY NON IRON SHIRT long sleeves shirt for men from UNIQLO. If they still carry the stock be it in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong or else where. I would like to buy a few pieces of them in "L" size. It was first chosen by my lovely Jaslyn for me to wear it. For some reason I got it's imprint faded when I washed them under chlorine solution which were not recommended.

Today, 24th August 2011 I get a call from a private number about 0840hrs from Registry of Marriage. The person identified himself as David. He is here to find out about my inquiry about the overly charged on my R.O.M. payment via online service their website provided on the 11th August 2011.

First question relay to me was, "How many times did I file the NOTICE OF MARRIAGE online that day?". I answered, "I try to file one but always having error when the website getting to the next page. It's either I'm able to get the date for reservation or the list of time for selection just didn't appeared on the screen. I thought because the date I've try to get on the 11th November having problem so I decided to try on 8th, 9th & 10th and it'll end up with error too!. So, I've decided to recorded it down using a free computer screen video recorder and I did managed to captured the website system error".

So, David replied not too worry as I'll be hearing from them soon about the refund for the additional two payment over deducted. Probably, they'll call me up again. If I'm not mistaken usually it takes three month time for the refund.

06/06/2011 - This morning after my "Lor Mee" at Telok Blangah Cresent I go to SAFRA Fitness One gym to work out. After checking the record, I've found that I have not been working out for the past 6 months.

I've started with stretching and warming up. Then to the thread mill. Felt coughing while jogging on the thread mill. I realized I've been lagging behind. After 5Km run, I was trying the Biceps weight pulling, aargh...I can't pull 50Kg after ten counts. I could do it like at 40 counts last year. Then, I tried the dumb bell, 10Kg each. Boy, it was sore here and there.

I guessed I need more practice Back to Basic. I would want to do it again, probably tomorrow evening. Gotta to beat the aching muscle and get that stretches. I've been not sleeping well lately and even crossing my leg felt numb. Last thing, two days ago I went for Karaoke session. I hardly control my breathing and voice. The lung seems to be weaken, need to do more jogging.

Japan northern east coastal area suffers after math disaster today when a tsunami hit coastal area of Ichihara in Chiba after the 8.9 magnitude of earthquake happens at several prefecture. Fo Kwang Shan, Wonton Pork Knuckle, Dream Mall Taiwan

From the National Citizen Hotel we head to Danshu Township where the enormous Buddha temple located. This monastery is known as Fo Kwang Shan. Beside it, the Buddha Memorial Hall were about 60% complete. It's very beautiful and spacious here.

After that we proceed to Fo Kwan Shan monastery. Below are the photo taken at Fo Kwang Shan Monastery.

After temple visit. We go down to Ligang Township to had our lunch. Jaslyn family would like to have Boiled pork knuckle so here is the place and the website is http://www.wonton.com.tw/

This is what happened to Macdonald in future. This photo is just the beginning of it in a small prefecture of Taiwan.

Their wonton are tender and tasty. Not oily like the one in Singapore.

In the evening, we all head to Dream Mall (梦时代. I bought some postal card there. It can be cut into a 3D small figurine building.

The DAISO is really large and item are properly arrange. Easier to find.

We took High Speed Rail bullet train from Taipei to Kaohsiung. The ride isvery comfortable and it took about 2 hour to reach the Kaohsiung station.
Look at those sexy hair curls, it's a good thing I seat beside her.
We meet up with our coach personnel Mr. Liew and Mr. Pang. He took us to Cijin straight away to get our lunch at Hi Bin Seafood Restaurant.

After a delightful lunch, we heading to Cijin Harbor.

This is where Jaslyn goes for her hair cut today. They said need 4 hrs. Very funny, I believed they're really serious. Well, at least I got some time to take a walk on my own. In the end it took about 7 hours. Ate Japanese dinner and then I went to nearby SOGO building to relieve myself at the Gents Room. By the time her hair is done, it's like 2300hrs. She look very sexy after that, feels like wanna squeeze her.

Everyone's waiting for the transportation which Janice booked prior our trip to Taiwan. We reached around noon time at Taoyuan International Airport Taiwan Terminal One. As expected, there were some miscommunication about our arrival date. It was a minor complication but did affecting much on our itinery timing.

I was busy purchasing Taiwan Mobile 3G prepaid. It's quite reasonable price considering if you don't intended to utilize your Singapore roaming services. Calling back to Singapore cost NT8.5/min which is about SGD0.37 comparing Starhub charging roaming rate about SGD2/min. In additional, I would be able to use unlimited mobile broadband with the NT300 for 5 days. Once 5 days is up, I would need to have minimal NT300 in my 3G prepaid sim card and call up "188" to the service provider and reactivate the data mobile broadband again. Take note for verification they'll need your current Taiwan prepaid sim mobile phone number, birth-date, passport number and your full name.

It's cold and windy outside, temperature about 16°C with wind speed of 40 knots which is equally 74km/h. A PERSON'S FACE WOULD HAD TURN PALE due to the coldness.

This time it happen to my pc. I was using it for a while then i removes my new printer catridge to keep as I would be on holiday tomorrow. Suddenly, my pc not responding.

And I just shut it down. The moment I restart back. The pc showed disk error. Rebooted a few time but this time things turned sour. Everything is dark. . . . . . I can't help thinking that all my android file is in there.

Yesterday, I've found out that my Kawaki indoor clothes drier not working. I was using it last week and everything was fine. It's been 5 years I've been using it on and off due to unpredictable weather. So, I went down to Jurong West to look for the shop that supply the appliance. Guess what. The address is correct, the contact is not valid anymore and it's an old provisional shop instead. I've wasted my time there and a 5 dollar cab fare.

Today, I woke up about five in the morning. Get myself clean up and head straight down to Jasly's house. The reason...to hand her the handy gift. It's Valentines Day, I won't be giving her flower today. I think it's pretty blunt to spend something will eventually dries up the next day. Once a while it's okay but several event would've come this year and she'll expect more flowers are coming soon. Later, I send her to the bus stand before she left to work. A sweet morning kiss to exchange mutual warmth and there's she goes.

Afterwards, I went home and get my Canon M810 printer scanner to the service centre to be repair. It was quite heavy, so I got it there with a cab. They said it would take a few days and the labor charges is about $10.50. I've met a guy who is weird in there, but that's okay. This is not my first time. Then, I had my lunch at SUBWAY.

Soon, I headed to Plaza Singapore to get my luggage bag which I've bought yesterday morning.

Before I reached the shop, I saw Yiwen. She got taller now and attached too, she was my memory lane for once but that's the past. God Bless Her~!.

Upon reaching the luggage shop: The sales girl, welcome me instead of good morning. It's.... "Never thought you're early today!". The funny thing is, they were very helpful and pro in doing their duty but not much things to talk about though. So, I left there with a cab back to my apartment. Nice ending trip as the cab driver were very cheerful guy, we chat and laughs along the way. It was a relaxing day indeed, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE.

Yesterday, I get to play Xbox Kinect with Jaslyn and her sweet niece at Jaslyn home. I also brought along Shark Fin soup packed with sea cucumber, fish maw, crab meat & scallops in it. I got to know that Jaslyn don't eat sea cucumber. Sea cucumber is good and an alternative cure for those who have or suffering weak or fragile joints once it's consume regularly.

During the evening, we got a chance to Lo Hei with Jaslyn family. Her niece were also there. I couldn't eat much as it's already quiet late. After that, we watch the Chinese version of "唐吉可德" or "Don Qu Xote" together. It was hilariously good. I thought why the Hanyu PinYin were so weird about this movie title. I came to know that Don Qu Xote is not China origins it's actually France Literature. The conversation of sanity language behind it were very well written but due to the actor is not well-known this movie didn't get a chance to climb to the movie award.

This Lunar New Year is another year which I'm not able to have re-union dinner with my parent and siblings together. I also miss out the event of placing the second joss stick into the joss stick pit at my favorite this year. The thought were running through me about getting the job done smoothly in the company as not much support from overtime personnel during the Lunar Eve.

The decision to work on Chinese New Year Eve weren't so fruitful as I can say it. Because not many think like me (workaholic), a colleague from the other team who is as same rank as me took a week leave. It cost my supervisor to take over his duty in return and I will have to run the show alone to guide the juniors. It wasn't miserable but we're lack of people to work and now the leader has to be at other team. This year Wei Kwang, James Leow & Edward take their leave on the eve night. Next year, privilege should goes to Spencer, Derek & Ben. I should plan out for myself too next year where the DRAGONS RULE again.

Last night, I went to SITEX fair @ Singapore Expo with Jaslyn. After a year waiting for this fun console I've finally bought it. It's been a year that I've not switch on my LED TV since the day I've bought it. It sound really weird, but that's the truth.

Why buy a LED TV yet you don't watch them?

Because it's meant for game as I don't watch tv programme at home. I merely have time for them.

Do you like game so much?

It depends.

Is the console expensive?

Yes, definitely not for minors. If minors can buy it, the parents must be very rich in cash and reckless.

Do you like to use game remote control?

Not really, I use it because they invented it as compulsory item for the game to work.

So, what's so special about Kinect Xbox 360?

Kinect game don't use remote controller and it's a little more healthier that way. You get to move your body.

I didn't managed to get a good sleep today after my night shift job. As soon as I reached home this morning, I've found that my toilet ceiling filled with puddle of water and it's dripping. So, I called up United Premas Hotline to send someone to have a look. Even told them that I've reported on 20th last month evening around 2010hrs and customer service Mandy attended to my call. So, I went to approached the neighbour living upstairs.

Around 1403 hours, I had a few missed calls. One is from the UP plumber contractor and the other one is my working colleague. I didn't even knew who had called as my new Android phone haven't set the contact yet. I called back and got to know 2 things

My colleague landed in Changi hospital and he mentioned he sustained a broken thigh from a road accident.
UP plumber will come down to my place and have a look.

From there, I'm awake with a sober muscle ache. maybe I'll sleep around evening 2300hrs...

A few good advice to take note:-

Micro Sim text storing memory capacity is smaller than Normal Sim Card thus it cost more than the ordinary sim card. In short description, why pay more for a less capable new microsim.
Practice and test the cutting with a expired sim card first to get yourself familiar with the cutting skills.
Initially, don't try to insert directly to iPhone4 to mitigate risk of stuck inside. Instead, try it on normal phone to ensure it's working.
File or smoothen the side of the DIY micro sim card for easy insertion to the slot compartment of iPhone4.

I'm on my first day of Confine Space Course at NTUC HUB again. It's an eye opener and yet I'm a little bit tired today. The class lasted till 1900 hours. I wouldn't elaborate much on the course as it's a bit dry content yet a little difficult too.

Several things happens today:-

I consumed wrong drink which cause my stomach upset
My dear was upset as I forgot I have a date with her yesterday.
When I got home, I've found my apartment toilet ceiling are dripping water from the top floor. Called up the hotline & Mandy answered. Nothing is done yet.
I transferred some cash to my MY account to replenished the low balance.

Dozens of Qantas passengers and crew are launching a multi-million dollar case against Airbus and a component-maker over a terrifying mid-air plunge which left scores injured, a lawyer said Monday.

Attorney Floyd Wisner said he was representing 76 passengers and crew who were on the 2008 flight which dived steeply twice, tossing people around the cabin and forcing an emergency landing in a remote Australian air force base.

Wisner refused to put a figure on the compensation sought from Europe's Airbus and American firm Northrop Grumman, which made a data unit on the plane, but said it would be in the millions of dollars.

"I can tell you from my experience of cases like this, the awards probably would range from low six figures going up, depending on the injury," he told AFP via telephone from the United States.

"Some of the people with very, very serious physical and psychological (injuries) would be in the few million dollar range."

Among the mostly Australian group he is representing, which also includes passengers from Britain, Sri Lanka, India and Singapore, are the three Qantas pilots who were on the flight, he said.

The Airbus A330-300 was flying at 37,000 feet as it made its way from Singapore to Perth on October 7, 2008 when the autopilot disengaged and the plane suddenly nose-dived, plunging 650 feet (200 metres).

After the pilots brought it back to altitude, the plane went into another plunge and dropped another 400 feet, again throwing passengers and loose items around the plane and leaving more than 100 people injured.

"Some had broken limbs, spinal injuries, severe lacerations to their scalps," Wisner said.

"Others had a combination of lesser physical injuries and psychological injuries. Some have more psychological injuries."

Wisner said one passenger had described the cabin as "like a war zone".

"People flew up to the ceiling, hit their head on the (luggage) bins, and then remained up on the ceiling for what to them seemed like an unusual amount of time only to come crashing down on top of other people," he said.

Many passengers who were travelling that day are so traumatised by the experience they are no longer able to fly, he added.

Wisner, whose practice is devoted to aviation cases, said he had been contacted by Australian lawyers to work on the compensation claims before the statute of limitations expired on October 7, 2010.

He said if the claims were not settled, he expected the case to go to trial in the US within two years.

The color grew from dark green turned into bright yellow when it's ready to be cook. The taste is excitingly sour than the plum fruit you ever taste. The cooking method is simple and if you want it more make it into Tom Yam Goong soup.

I called it Borneo's Exotic Iban Brinjal. The tree plant itself resembles the ordinary brinjal family. Outer skin of the fruit definitely had the brinjal lookalike only thing is it's round in shape. When you cut it open, inside smells like tomato. If you taste it, sour as lemon. That's the specialty of it. Have you ever seen it in your forest or hometown.

Preparation method:-

1. Wash & Cut one Iban Brinjal into four pieces.

2. Soak dried shrimps till it's softened. Pour away the water.

3. Prepare some table salt, curry powder, white pepper, little bit of cooking oil, fresh cut red chilli and slices of onions as well.

4. Add the Iban Brinjal, dried shrimps, pinch of table salt, pinch of curry powder, white pepper and a little droplets of oil into a cooking ware.

5. Pour in 1 litre of water and then start boiling till the brinjal is softened and ready to eat it.

Note: That the skin is to be remove when consuming the fruit as it's too hard to chew.

Everyone who walks through the doors of a casino is in an optimistic state of mind. The promise that they can walk out a winner is exhilarating and they convince themselves that they can do so. Ron Harris

In January, 1995 Reid Errol McNeal defied roughly 1 million to 1 odds and hit a monster keno jackpot of $100,000 at Bally’s Park Place Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. What aroused suspicion of officials was that he showed very little emotion, did not have identification on him, and asked to be paid in cash.

New Jersey law requires jackpots of over $35,000 to be verified by state gaming officials, and when they arrived at the casino they went up to McNeal’s hotel room with two state troopers. There they also found Ron Harris, who said he was a friend of McNeal. When McNeal went downstairs with the officials to answer questions he told them that Harris was a computer technician for the Nevada Gaming Control Board, which regulates gaming in Las Vegas. When officials went back to the room to search, Harris was gone but they found computer equipment and books and notes detailing how Bally’s random number generator could be beaten.

It was then discovered that Harris’ job was to actually check and test slot machines throughout Nevada to make sure only computer chips that were approved by the state were being used. He apparently had used his savvy, brilliance, and inside knowledge of casino gaming to access Bally’s programming for their keno machine’s random number generator, then used his computer equipment to duplicate the calculations that the actual machine made. Therefore, he was able to know the outcomes beforehand and he gave them to his partner, McNeal. McNeal was arrested immediately and Harris was later arrested in Nevada. Needless to say, Harris was not allowed to keep his job.

Gonzalo Garcia-Pelayo

Garcia-Pelayo of Spain was initially a record producer but proved to not be very successful in that endeavor. As a result, he decided to devote all his energies to his passion, roulette, and became the first person to successfully exploit wheel bias in the 90s.

Others had suggested the idea of wheel bias but had never taken advantage of it in a casino situation. Wheel bias is the belief that not all roulette wheels are perfectly random, and that each individual wheel is unique in that certain numbers are more likely to drop than others. This aberration was a result of wheels being ever so slightly off level or because of other minute inaccurate measurements such as tiny differences in pocket sizes, or the way the wheel’s gears worked.

He began in casinos in Spain by tediously staring at a specific wheel for thousands of spins, recording his results, then analyzing them with a computer. He also recruited his 5 children to help record results. Before he bet a cent, he did many observation sessions on the same wheel. When he felt it was time to bet on the wheel’s “hot numbers” he swung a 5% house edge to a 15% player’s edge and raked in the cash. When he began to feel heat he found a new casino and did the process over again. When every casino in Spain knew who he was he took his method to the United States and Las Vegas where he continued to profit. When he became just too well-known by casinos around the world he retired with an estimated $1.5 million in the bank. One casino sued to recover their losses but Spain’s Supreme Court ruled in Garcia-Pelayo’s favor saying that all he did was use “ingenuity and computer techniques. That’s all”.

Dominic LoRiggio

“The Man With The Golden Arm” and “The Dominator” are LoRiggio’s nicknames. Through years of practice, hours at a time, LoRiggio learned “controlled shooting” which is a technique of getting the rolls you needs in the game of craps when you need them.

The method involves setting the dice a certain way, gripping them precisely, tossing them so they stay together in the air, then having them land as gently as possible against the back wall of the craps table. He began with fellow dice control aficionados as the team known as Rosebud, and together they were the first to attack the Vegas strip with their specialized way of shooting. To this day, many still think that controlling the dice is impossible, but “The Dominator” says he is able to do so through simple physics.

LoRiggio eventually left the group because he felt their steadfast adherence to conservative betting was restraining him from making serious money. He teamed up with famous gambler and writer Frank Scoblete, and using controlled shooting they have claimed to have won thousands of dollars at various casinos. Although nothing LoRiggio has ever done is illegal, thanks in large part to him many casinos now identify controlled shooters and will force them to shoot the dice using different mechanics. Keith Taft

Taft was a real-life Inspector Gadget (sorry to those who never saw the cartoon). He was a legitimate electronics genius who devoted roughly 30 years to developing devices that defeated the casino. With his son Marty he began his tinkering in the 70s and is considered one of the first to create a computer to capture digital video and a microcomputer.

After a vacation in 1969 he became hooked on blackjack and recalled that Edward Thorp (see #1) had written that the game was mathematically beatable. He tried card counting but was unsuccessful, and that was when he concluded that he would use computers to get an edge in the casinos.

He first completed a 15-pound computer named George to help with card counting which he controlled with his toes and wore under his clothes. Being too bulky, he created a more lightweight device which he named David and was shockingly advanced for its time. With it he made $40,000 the first week he used it. Taft then basically spit in the faces of casinos and marketed his mini-computer for $10,000 apiece and trained people how to use it. He was eventually detained at a casino and his computer was found, but because the casino and the FBI had not the slightest inkling of how to use it, and therefore couldn’t prove it was used for cheating, Taft was let go with no consequences.

The “belly telly” was Keith and Marty’s next invention and was a tiny video camera that was placed in one’s belt buckle and could see the dealer’s hole card. The image would be relayed to an accomplice who had a satellite on a pickup truck in the parking lot, and he in turn would signal back to the player the best move to make. Other genius inventions included Thor, a computer which could deduce the positioning of cards in a deck if a perfect shuffle was used, and Naina, a sequencing computer.

In 1985 Nevada made it illegal to use electronic devices to aid in gambling, with a punishment of 10 years in prison. However, this was after Taft had won thousands upon thousands of dollars over the years. For all his sweat, blood, and tears and pioneering computer work, Taft was inducted into the Blackjack Hall of Fame in 2004.

Ida Summers

With striking good looks, Ida Summers was not a woman who would seem to be the epitome of a casino cheater, but in the 60s and 70s she reeled in tens of thousands of dollars in the casinos using guile and shiftiness.

Her specialties were “hand mucking” and switching in “coolers” at the blackjack tables. Hand mucking involves concealing a card that has been brought to the table or removed from play, then through sleight of hand returning it to play when it will benefit the player. Her attractiveness, sociability, and unintimidating frame (5’3” and 100 lbs.) went a long way in deflecting heat from her as she effortlessly switched cards in and out of the deck. She made her way to Las Vegas and continued her cunning ways. It should be noted that during this time many Vegas casinos had mob connections and weren’t as “kind” to cheaters as they are today. This makes her next move even more brazen.

She took it a step further and began to insert cold decks or coolers into the games. Cold decks are pre-stacked decks, brought in by the player, that are traded out with the deck being used in the game. It is an incredibly dangerous maneuver to pull in a casino, but somehow Ida was able to successfully execute it. The fact that there were really no known female cheats at the time made her nearly invincible for a while. Soon she became a legend among the shady underworld of casino cheats since nobody in their right mind had ever attempted inserting a cold deck before.

Her boldness caught up with her however as the FBI and gaming officials ultimately brought her down.

Tommy Glenn Carmichael

Tommy Glenn Carmichael, like Keith Taft, was a gifted individual who created prodigiously clever devices to gain an enormous edge in the casino. However, his game was the slots. “Give me a slot machine and I’ll beat it” was his motto – and he wasn’t kidding around.

His cheating career began in 1980 at the age of 30 when he used a “top-bottom joint” to win large payouts. This device was a pretty simplistic piece of metal that produced payouts when inserted into the coin slot. Soon, larger casinos replaced their older slot machines with newer ones that had random number generators. As a result, Carmichael moved to smaller gambling halls in Las Vegas but he was arrested at one of these and sentenced to jail. Jail however only strengthened his reserve and when he was released got back to work evolving his cheating instruments.

He developed tools called a Slider and Monkey Paw which when slipped into the machine tripped a switch and caused the hopper to release coins. When slot machines went computer-based he immediately went on the offense and went to a slot machine manufacturer posing as a customer. He had the salesperson open up the new machines as he studied their innards. That was all he needed to invent the “light wand”. This gadget consisted of a camera battery and miniature light and was used to blind a sensor inside the slots causing it to payout coins. It was nearly impossible for security to detect a person using this wand because it was so subtle, and in addition to Carmichael profiting from using it, he sold it to other cheats making as much as $10,000 on certain days.

In 1996 he was arrested for using the wand but charges were later dropped. But in the next three years he was arrested twice in casinos for possession of a cheating device. The FBI became involved and in 2001 Carmichael was sentenced to time served and probation. Today he consults casinos and ironically produces anti-cheating devices. It’s quite amazing that because of one man’s ability to thwart slot machines, the entire casinoindustry had to make their technology increasingly more complex.

Louis “The Coin” Colavecchio

In the late 90s law enforcement agencies from various states, the FBI, Secret Service, and others, descended upon the home of Louis Colavecchio. There, and at his orthotics business, they found thousands of manufactured slot tokens from dozens of casinos throughout North America.

What sets Colavecchio apart from other counterfeiters is that he was able to duplicate just about anything made out of precious metals or stones. The slot coins found weren’t just counterfeits, they were precisely the same as the real things in every way; they essentially WERE the same thing.

In order to pull this off, “The Coin” needed some seriously specialized equipment. These hard-to-obtain things included: precious metals such as copper, nickel, and zinc, laser-cutting tools to cut, shape, and create dies to stamp out the coins, and a 150-ton press from Italy.

He was so good, that when coins were brought by officials to one of the casinos Colavecchio had hit, security experts there did not even believe they were counterfeit. He was able to decimate casinos in Las Vegas before law enforcement had any perception of his crimes. They finally became aware when large surpluses of coins showed up on casinos’ inventory in other parts of the continent and Colavecchio was suspiciously cashing in large sums of coins.

It took weeks to sort out just how much “The Coin” stole from the dozens of casinos he had made coins for. It was impossible to ascertain a definite amount since those in Las Vegas refused to even acknowledge that they had been cheated. Estimates range from $100,000 to $500,000, and it was clear he had no intentions to slow down. The government had to rent two storage facilities just to store all of the loot they found in Colavecchio’s possession.

A plea deal was reached when he promised to show law enforcement exactly how his operation had worked in order to help in the prevention of future, similar assaults on casinos.

MIT Blackjack Team

This entry is perhaps the most famous of all here. Books have been written about it and a major movie chronicling the story was released in 2008.

Beginning as an after-school club meeting in campus classrooms at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the mid 90s, this team came into inception when these brilliant students decided to use statistic-based systems to beat the game of blackjack. They would subsequently assail casinos for years following.

The initial core of students and accepted associates then went on a recruiting campaign and even put up flyers around campus. Applicants were given tests so only the most suitable ones were chosen in the end, then they were thoroughly trained in the system. The system was card counting which, if done correctly, can give the player a slight yet substantial edge. The idea was not new, and thousands had tried their hand at it previously, but the MIT team really took it to a new level.

They created casino mock-ups and environments and took a team-based approach. This complex arrangement of having a team minimized the chance of being caught, maximized opportunities, and disguised the betting patterns that are inherent to all card counters. Casinos were experienced in identifying counters and making their time there miserable, but it would be extremely difficult for them to do so if the team masked their activity well enough. Hours upon grueling hours were spent perfecting the system and each member had to pass a tedious and demanding battery of tests before they were allowed to enter live casino play.

They began in underground card games to reassure themselves that their calculations and methods would transfer to real-life conditions. When they were sure, they acquired financial backing from anonymous investors and created their own corporation named Strategic Investments. With a bankroll of hundreds of thousands of dollars they then invaded Vegas casinos. Their impact was even greater than expected with returns far exceeding their goals. In one weekend alone they accrued $400,000 in winnings.

Heat in time began to hamper the team and they were forced to move to smaller, sometimes unsavory casinos. Eventually they travelled to European countries but their reputation followed them there as well. After more than one brush with the law the original members quit the team. New students joined but casinos all over the globe knew about MIT students and yearbook photos from the school were downloaded to a shared database. This effectively ended the team’s reign.

In all, it was reported that over the span of just a few years the team amassed a profit of over $5 million, and has also become a legendary entity in pop culture.

Richard Marcus

Marcus may be the best full-blown cheater in the history of casino gambling. In the beginning he tried to support himself solely on gambling but soon enough he found himself living under a bridge. He got his act together and became a blackjack and baccarat dealer, but while he was on the other side of the gaming table sinister ideas percolated in his head. These ideas would come to fruition and in turn would wreak havoc on the casinos.

One simple, but extremely difficult-to-pull-off, move made Marcus such an elite cheat. He dubbed it “The Savannah” and it involved betting a low denomination of chips, such as three $5 ones at the roulette table – nothing at all that would draw any attention. If he won, he would become very excited, screaming and yelling while throwing his hands up in the air. However, the dealer would be perplexed as to why a player was so elated over winning such a modest sum. Marcus would then alert him to the fact that there was a brown $500 chip underneath the three $5 chips, and when the dealer lifted the top three, he would in fact see himself that there was a $500 chip resting there.

On the other hand, if Marcus’ bet lost he would quickly and surreptitiously remove the $500 chip from the bottom of the stack as the dealer was turned toward the wheel and he would only be out $15. It was only a rudimentary optical illusion, yet a brilliant one. The smaller denomination chips were pushed just slightly forward to cover up the larger one; the dealer never saw the brown chip – unless the player wanted him to. The idea of switching out chips, or past posting as it’s known, was not new, but what made Marcus’ method so innovative was that he performed it backwards. Past posters would bet small, and if they won would stealthily add more chips to their original bet. Marcus started with a large bet then changed it to a small one if he lost. It may not seem like it was a drastic change, but casinos had never seen this before and were not looking for it because security was trained to only look at wins, and his wins were completely legitimate, it was his losses that weren’t! At the pinnacle of their game, he and accomplices were dropping $5,000 chips under $100 ones.

Richard Marcus was eventually caught and prosecuted but not after he bilked an estimated $5 million from casinos around the world. He currently sells gambling books and claims on his website that he is still involved in casino cheating but in a way law enforcement officials can never catch.

Edward Thorp

Thorp is the father of card counting. Not only was he successful using it in real-world situations, he was the one who invented the original system. A mathematics professor who possessed a master’s degree in physics and a doctorate degree in mathematics, he clearly had above-average intelligence.

As an adult in the early 60s, Thorp knew next to nothing about casino games and the world of gambling. But when a friend, Claude Shannon, brought him and his wife to Las Vegas he became interested in blackjack, and after playing the game a number of times became convinced that there was a mathematical way in which the player could gain an advantage.

He studied the game in a systematic method and exhaustively examined every facet of the game. Using a computer owned by the university he taught at, he simulated billions of blackjack hands to delve even further into the mathematics of the game. This computer was so massive it filled an entire room, yet it was less powerful than today’s laptops. Through his calculations and observations he created his system which “accounted for the variations in those (cards) that remained after certain hands were dealt”. Basically, he realized that smaller cards were more advantageous for the dealer and when they left the deck, advantage shifted in the player’s favor so they should bet more. Concurrently, larger cards were more advantageous to the player and when they left the deck the advantage shifted to the house, or dealer, so less money should be bet. Using this method Thorp calculated that the player could own a 1% to 5% advantage over the house.

Thorp and Shannon hit the casinos and would return with their pockets filled with cash. One typical weekend would net $70,000 in today’s money. The gambling industry was no match for Thorp’s flawless execution of his card counting method. After all, card counting did not yet exist to them so they had no idea what was happening. Thorp drew the attention of casino bosses when he began winning unusually high sums and most were convinced he was cheating. They intensely watched him play and studied videotapes of his play, but they could see nothing nefarious occurring. Before long, some casinos asked Thorp to leave because he was simply winning too much, yet they still did not know how he was doing so.

In 1962 Thorp wrote his book “Beat the Dealer” which detailed his card counting “ten count system” and became an instant hit as well as a modern-day classic. With its sales he amassed a pretty handsome fortune. In 1966 he wrote a second edition which expanded on the intricacies of the system. It’s interesting to note that the sudden explosion in card counting worked in favor of the casinos since many people attempting to do it just couldn’t pull it off as effectively as Thorp did. However, his findings and methods have been the basis for every card counting system following, including that of the aforementioned MIT team’s.

Following his gambling exploits, Thorp applied his mathematical genius to the stock market and made a huge fortune in securities and hedge funds. After a long search for the right owner to take over my SHARP AQUOS 42" LCD TV. The time has finally come. It's sold at the price of S$500 nett to an interesting owner. The deal seems to be valuable as even at IT FAIR be it MEGATEX or COMEX you wouldn't be able to find a good price like this. I barely watching tv so the hour running while it's in my home should be less than 10 hour after reaching 2 year. Everytime, I open up the box casing it seems like new from the store.

There're two person interested in my offer. One eventually miss the opportunity as he was busy with his schedule while the other was very keen to buy as his home tv is going to be dead soon. So, he handed me the money as soon as possible. That's the potential buyer. It's a good sign.

After the rain shower, the sun is out on this beautiful morning. I'm taking the opportunity to shoot some more photos using my Samsung i8910D camera mobilephone. I'll be flying back to Singapore in the afternoon. This city hasn't change much since I've left 15 years ago. But all those are only memory now as all my friend are slowly fades away from this place as well having to carry on with their own life.

Today is public holiday for Malaysia. It's the country's NATIONAL DAY. But this year the major event didn't held here so it's pretty quite. The economic here is still at slow pace but still several shopping mall has been built.

Few examples are:-

Me and my sister had our lunch at GreenHeightMall coffee shop. We ate Sarawak Laksa. There're so many young kids who work as stall helper here. Remind me of my younger years doing the same thing. Suddenly, a kid fall down and all the dirty dishes were spilt on the floor and some curry stain my WHITE ADIDAS shoe. It's a good thing it's dirt proof. I've checked the boy to ensure his not hurt. It seems like he is only 12 year old kid. And no serious injury occur. Chinese kid are usually train that way. Parents make them work to earn money rather than educating them to think how to earn a living. Learning the hard way as usual.

My sister wanted to buy a netbook so we went to One TJ to search. She saw what she wanted but onhold to buy. After that we went to Wisma Saberkas to meet my friend Tiu Wee Lim and his wife. We continue to search and survey around for the netbook she wanted. The offer is not that great here. So, she made up her mind to buy at ONE TJ in the next few day. Suddenly, I was craving for ice cream. Damn we just can't find ice cream stall here. ALL JOY fast food is closed on public holiday.

So we all headed to CAUSEWAY BAY HONG KONG RESTAURANT to grab some mini meal. I ordered Ngor Hiong a.k.a. spring roll of five spices and a dessert. On the menu it's written as BANANA SPILT...LMAO. The picture showed BANANA SPLIT ICE CREAM WITH CHOC MOOSE but the menu written BANANA SPILT. It's was funny and I just love it. Ha..ha..ha...can't forget about it. It's a pity I forget to shoot a photo of the place and the MENU booklet.

After, having the decent meal there. We part our way with a handshake of good wisdom farewell. Till then.

These few days I've been sleeping good. It was a comfortable bed to sleep on. The brand is Royal Heritage by KING KOIL. See the picture for yourself.

Anyway, I'm checking out today noon time. But first my dad bring me and my younger sister to 10th mile to have our breakfast there. I'm having seafood soup with fish ball. It's tasty. I skip the noddle as I'm enjoying the tasty prawn a lot. It's nicely done.

There after, we went up further to 21th mile to meet my 4th aunt who lived in a grocery shophouse with her husband. I've ordered three box of birdnest from her. The price??? it was the same price after so many years. This time the packaging is more decent and compact. After that, we rush down back to Kuching city to my hotel for checking out of there.

Last night, went home for dinner and got some ironic thumb intense muscular deep rub & bone alignment for my Cervical Spondylosis. During the course of the massage, the pain rating was like 7 out of 10. It lasted about 10 minutes and final was re-align the cervical bone within the C6 & C7 which has been affected. After that, the neck pain can be felt 90% gone. More massage is needed though.

Today, as I hit the gym again and swimming pool definitely can felt better relief on the neck.

I can swim freestyle swinging my head left and right for breathing with less restriction too. My freestyle is poor ever since I stop practice it though. During that time, I always getting neck and left leg cramp without noticing I'm going to end up attacked by Stinosis problem. It was never known but it is an earlier stage of the Cervical Spyndolisis.

About 1130hrs, I was brought by the marketing and communication manager from the hotel to view various of room available in Pullman Kuching. It was a good introduction of the hotel itself. Everything is still new and clean. That's more important.

Waking up at 0630hrs. warm up a little and shoot the photo above.

After done wash up, I went downtown to grab my breakfast. After that, I go back to the hotel to drink a cup of malt drink and 2 pieces of bread with olive spread. There I go and hit the swimming pool to swim for about an hour. Followed by the fitness gym.

Initial feeling was terrible when running the thread mill as I didn't jog for about 2 weeks now. After 3km run, I stopped and manage to train on other equipment for my back muscle and shoulder. About 1130hr, I get back to my room and take a shower. I went straight to take my nap, in between while I was about to dose off my sister message me several times. I was feeling uneasy a little. Still, I managed to close my eye for 30mins.

At 1530hr, I awake, ate two pieces of bread with olive spread and get myself to the pool again to swim. This time round it felt more easy, to swim and to dive in. Can feel the stamina is there and less stretchy too. It felt good and relaxing with the sunny afternoon.

In the morning, I awake early and went to Kuching Reservoir Park and have a morning walk after taken breakfast with my father, sister and brother.

At noon time, we went to have our lunch at Duck King restaurant by Lek Tian Group. Alicia bought me a fruit tart. She wanted to add candle to it but I insist not to. It's my big day and I like to be in relax moment on this day. The tart is sweet and delicious. I try not to eat fruit desert right after meal because the fruit carb and complex sugar would usually cause me some flatulence effect. So I would consume fruit either one hour before meal or one hour after meal. To avoid the discomfort within the gastrointestinal.

After had my lunch with my dad, younger brother and younger sister at Duck King Restaurant by Le Tian Group. I am ready to check into Pullman Hotel.

Checked In to Pullman Kuching about 1415hr. Got my card key, room on the 16th Floor. After, putting my bags into the room. I observed the emergency exit plan surrounding. And get myself comfortable with the room. I managed to shoot some photos the next day early morning.

The room is clean and I managed to shoot some photos from the window.

Hong Thai Travel in Philippines must really have a hard time when their tour bus was under siege by an ex police man on 23rd August 2010.

No one would certainly expected when will something like this happen when they're abroad for touring in foreign countries. But this significant photo and story coverage had taken the world by storm. At Least 4 Dead in Philippine Bus Standoff

MANILA — An armed policeman who lost his job last year took a tourist bus hostage on Monday, setting off a daylong standoff that ended after police commandos stormed the bus.

An ex-policeman who hijacked a tourist bus (inside the bus) speaking with negotiators at the front of the bus in Manila on Monday.

At least 4 of the 15 hostages were killed, and one was critically wounded, a spokesman for the President Benigno S. Aquino III said Monday night. Six others were shown on television crawling out of the bus after police assault teams moved in.

A man shown slumped and apparently lifeless by the main door of the bus was identified on television reports as the gunman, but the authorities did not immediately confirm his fate.

Live video from the scene showed police commandos, their rifles drawn, surrounding the bus, slamming windows with sledgehammers and opening an emergency exit as emergency vehicles converged in the rain. Gunshots were heard as they swarmed the bus.

A short time earlier, the driver of the bus managed to escape after cutting himself loose from handcuffs the hostage-taker had put on. The driver jumped through a window, ran from the bus and screamed, “Everybody is dead!” to a group of journalists who had clustered at the scene.

The police began the assault moments after the driver escaped.

At least nine hostages had been released earlier, including three children and a diabetic. Three of the freed were Filipinos. According to the authorities, there were 15 other people inside before the police began their assault.

The drama began at 10 a.m. when a former police officer identified as Rolando Mendoza, 55, boarded a Hong Thai Travel tour bus and took the passengers hostage.

Rodolfo Magtibay, the chief of the Manila Police District, told reporters on the scene that the Mr. Mendoza had demanded the return of his job and benefits. Authorities said that Mr. Mendoza had been dismissed in 2009 after accusations he had extorted money from a hotel chef accused of using drugs.

The bus sat parked with its curtains drawn at the Quirino Grandstand near the Manila Bay, a public plaza where presidents usually take their oaths of office. For hours, live broadcasts indicated no movement inside the bus, except when three shots were fired through the windshield.

The presence of cameras appeared to play a role in how the standoff unfolded.

The situation seemed to escalate after the gunman’s brother, Gregorio Mendoza, who is also a police officer, complained to reporters gathered near the scene that the police had wanted to implicate him in the hostage-taking. He also accused the police of trying to kill him. In front of the cameras, Officer Mendoza was picked up the by the police and shoved into a police car, his relatives wailing behind him.

Earlier, the hostage-taker had warned the authorities not to harm his family.

There were shots heard soon after the gunman’s brother was taken into custody, raising the possibility that those on the bus were watching the crisis play out on television monitors inside.

Throughout the day, the gunman wrote his demands on cardboard, which he would then paste on the windshield of the bus. One of the messages read, “Big mistake to correct a big wrong decision.”

Late in the afternoon, he posted a message saying, “Media now,” apparently telling journalists to come to him. But the police prevented reporters from even getting near the bus.

Go Back Kampung!

I still remembered I visited my far aunt who stayed in "Kampung" or village several years ago. Probably, from the judgement of the eye it's confirmed living based on crops she grow herself and poultry she feeds.

The brighter side of living in this kind of condition are too many to name:

Fashion clothing doesn't work here as you may dealing with mud and soil daily
Gas energy in kitchen doesn't work here as she and other relatives uses branches and wood for cooking
Electrical energy doesn't apply much so she uses candle every night. Only at times when she need to watch tv she would pay local electrical supplier minor fee on daily basis for the electric.
She barely shop at mini-mart as she live by self sustain with own grown crops & poultry feeds.
Financially, with the assistance of the government she gets a little help with food ration once every 2-3 months.

I remembered when I was young about age of 5-6 year old. She had a job as waitress. During that period of time, only educated people work in offices govern by the domestic government. While most of the place in town are filled with a few bars opened by local business man. Other than that, the Chinese would run their own family small business during the day. As she didn't managed to save her little penny she earn and most friends are not dependable. Partly none has the opportunity to show her how to manage or plan which end up her in poverty. She had try to survive in modernity but it didn't succeeded. To her at least she has tried and learnt that sustain living in modernity is not as easy as being living in much more descent life.

Whenever I got out of hand in spending every time, I wanted visited her place to remind myself again and again that I shouldn't spend much money on unnecessary item. It's kind like a motivation to myself to spend wisely for my hard earn money. And, to preserve and save some for myself. And I did.... starting last year.
